Ceri Schofield

Ceri is a qualified and experienced psychodynamic counsellor working from her practice in the centre of Cheltenham and online. She works with adults, offering a safe, supportive, and confidential space in which to explore personal difficulties—whether they are recent or rooted in earlier experiences.

You may be considering counselling for many different reasons. Perhaps you are going through, or have been through, a difficult time and would like support in understanding what is happening and how it is affecting your life. You may also feel curious about yourself, your
relationships, and the ways you respond to different situations, with a desire to develop greater self-awareness. Whatever brings you to counselling, all parts of your experience are welcome.

Ceri understands that choosing a counsellor and reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when other areas of life feel uncertain or overwhelming. At the heart of her practice is creating a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you are invited to speak freely, without judgement or expectation.

As the therapeutic relationship develops, you may begin to explore patterns in how you relate to yourself and others, alongside the experiences that have shaped you over time. Together, you can reflect on what feels difficult in the present and consider what may need to change moving forward.

Through this process, new perspectives can emerge. Feelings, beliefs, or ways of coping that once felt fixed may begin to loosen, creating the possibility for greater understanding, choice, and emotional freedom.

Confidentiality:

It is important to Ceri that clients feel safe and comfortable to speak openly about what matters to them. All counselling sessions are completely confidential, and she follows the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions to ensure clients’ privacy and trust are fully respected.

Fees

Initial Consultation:

If you would like to get in touch, Ceri can arrange an initial consultation (50 minutes) at a mutually convenient time. This first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. It is also an opportunity to gain an insight into how Ceri works and decide whether this feels like the right fit for you. The fee is £55

Ongoing Sessions:

Regular weekly sessions with Ceri are usually scheduled at the same time each week to provide consistency and support. It is natural not to know exactly how many sessions will be needed or how long you may want to continue at the start. Clients have an active role in shaping the pace of the counselling, and together with Ceri, they will regularly review progress and discuss how they feel about the work. The fee for each session is £55
